IN LOVING MEMORY OF CHRISTOPHER B. PRIOR-WANDESFORDE, LIEUT. 4TH YORKSHIRE REGT./ ELDEST SON OF R.H.PRIOR-WANDESFORDE, J.P.D.L. AND FLORENCE HIS WIFE./ WHO DIED OF WOUNDS (GAS) ON ACTIVE SERVICE IN FRANCE 27TH JUNE 1917, AGED 20, AND IS BURIED AT ACHIET LE GRAND./ ALTHOUGH SUFFERING FROM THE EFFECTS OF GAS, HE WORKED FOR TWO HOURS HELPING TO RESCUE HIS MEN/ CARRYING SOME OF THEM ON HIS BACK TO A PLACE OF SAFETY. "FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH."/ ERECTED BY HIS PARENTS.
