How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
Two light stained glass window depicting an episode from Matthew's Gospel (Ch.8 vv. 5-13) in which a Roman Centurion begs Jesus to cure his servant. Three Disciples in the lefthand light look on as, in the righthand light, the Centurion kneels before Jesus, with another soldier looking on. Verse 9 from the text is inscribed across the window below the scene, and, separated by an architectural frieze, the dedication is inscribed along the bottom of the window. In the centre above the main lights an angel is depicted in a quatrefoil light holding a scroll bearing another Biblical text.
The subject is also commemorated on a family grave in the churchyard (WMR 97627), and on a plaque in the church sanctuary (WMR 97628).
