Memorial Details
What type of memorial is it?
How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
A single light stained glass window commissioned to commemorate the centenary of the end of the Great War. The design includes a dove of peace, poppies for remembrance and snowdrops symbolising hope of new beginnings.
In the embrasure of the window hangs a hand-written paper Roll of Honour in a glazed wooden frame, recording the Fallen of WW1 and WW2.
A glazed frame sits on the cill recording the donors of the window.
To the left of the window is a wall hanging depicting soldiers in full kit against a fiery background which was produced for the Settle Amateur Operatic Sciety's 2018 production of "Oh, What a Lovely War".
