Memorial Details
What type of memorial is it?
How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
Memorial window in memory of the eight nurses from St Mary Abbots Hospital killed during WW2. The window was built in memory of these nurses, who, regardless of the heavy bombing, stayed on duty until the end. The church was also damaged by the bombing and most of the windows blown out.

The window tells the story of the bombing and shows St. George of England with a sister and nurse kneeling in adoration among the ruins of the hospital. It measure nine feet by two. The Matron hoped to add more windows later. Six sisters and nurses in the bombing. Either fourteen or seventeen patients (including six children) were killed in air raids during the way

With the demolition of the hospital and changes to the site, not sure of the location of the window and tablet.
