Additional Notes
Additional general notes on the memorial
The window was designed by Sir John Ninian Comper a Scottish-born architect. He was one of the last Gothic Revival architects, his work almost entirely comprising restoration and embellishment of churches, ecclesiastical furnishings, stained glass and vestments. He is celebrated for his use of colour, iconography and emphasis on churches as a setting for liturgy. In his later works he developed the subtle integration of Classical and Gothic elements, an approach he described as 'Unity by Inclusion'
