Beeston Gazette and Echo, Saturday 26th February 1927 (page 2), printed a brief history of the Baptist Chapel, mentioning that: 'There are six memorial windows in the chapel; four in memory to William Calladine, 1826 - 1895, Herbert Wakefield 1838-1904, John Buck, 1841-1911, and Sarah Plumb, 1856-1901. A brass tablet adorns the pulpit front and contains the names of the 21 "boys" who were killed in the Great War. This was unveiled by the Rev. W. T. Thorpe on Sunday evening, February 29, 1920; Miss Annie Parkin placing a wreath under the tablet made up of snowdrops from France. Two beautiful stained glass windows show prominently in the body of the Chapel, in memory of 108 "boys" who served in the Great War, and contain a list of their names'.
