How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
Inscriptions beneath scenes depicting Holy Week and Easter in a four-light stained glass window. The outer inscriptions are inscribed within laurel wreaths decorated with acorns, and record the theatres where the Brigade was engaged. The inner inscriptions carry the dedication and that the names are inscribed elsewhere in the Cathedral (on a Roll of Honour in the Cheshire Regimental Chapel in the South transept - WMR 18326). Above the centre lights are crests representing the Cheshire Regiment and the RFA Brigade.
In the 1920s the 34 windows around the Cathedral Cloisters were glazed in stained glass with images depicting the Church’s Calendar. Of the 130 lights about a quarter are WW1 Memorials.
