Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler were not sure but felt he was probably Arnold Sutcliffe who was living in Mytholmroyd having moved from Todmorden. If so, he was an apprentice tailor and a pianist and organist who enlisted in October 1914, initially serving as a bandsman. If it is him, he served in the Dardanelles, contracted enteric and died in hospital on Lemnos where he is buried in the Portianos British Military Cemetery. He was 24 and may also be commemorated on IWM 2654 and 596 and is certainly named on 2856 in Mytholmroyd. His details are used here.
