Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married and worked as a quarryman: he had also spent 8 years in Canada. He enlisted in March 1916 and was lost in the Gulf of Genoa when his Q ship, the Perugia, was torpedoed. He is also commemorated on IWM 2738 and the Plymouth Naval Memorial.
