Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Married, with 4 children, he had lived in Canada for many years having served in the Boer war with the Canadian Rifles. He died of pneumonia in a casualty clearing station, was the brother of Theodore and was not found to have been named on any other Calderdale memorial.
