Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He worked for a glazing company before he enlisted in April 1917. He died after he became separated from his regiment during action and, despite joining a detachment of the King's (presumably explaining the mis-representation of his regiment on this memorial), he was then killed in further fighting. This was the only Calderdale memorial they found him named on but he is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
