Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He worked in a wireworks in Brighouse before he enlisted in November 1914 as one of the Brighouse Chums. He was killed by shrapnel whilst on a working party and was not found to have been commemorated on any other Calderdale memorial they worked on.
