Born in 1891 in Tring. He enlisted in 1916 initially as a Private 5088, 1/1st Bn, Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry, Territorial Battalion. When the battalion was renumbered he became Private 5267017. Killed during the Battle of Vittorio Veneto that began on 23 October. He died 17 days prior to the signing of the armistice.
