Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. An apprentice moulder in an iron foundry, he was underage when he enlisted in July 1914. He went to the Front in the October, was wounded in the November, returned to his unit in January 1915 but was killed the following month. He is also commemorated on the Menin Gate. No relation to Cyril who is also commemorated on this memorial.
