Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. An engine tenter by trade, he enlisted in August 1916 as a gunner and drowned when his ship, the SS Frankby, was wrecked on the Azores. He is also commemorated on the Chatham Naval Memorial as well as IWM 2606.
