Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, to Elizabeth Anne, and enlisted in September 1914. One of the many men of Halifax and the regiment lost in the failed attack on the Schwaben Redoubt on 3rd September 1916. He is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial as well as here.
