Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Originally from Bradford, he was living in London - his parents were living in Halifax, hence he is commemorated here. He had worked for a bank in Todmorden but was working as a civil servant in London before he enlisted in June 1915. He died of blood poisoning from an insect bite on his face and is also commemorated on IWM 2689.
