Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He had moved from Halifax to Birmingham where he worked int he city Treasurer's Office before he enlisted. He suffered a 'slight' thigh wound which proved fatal. He is also commemorated on IWM 2689 and on the Cambrai memorial.
