Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra detail. He was not married and worked as a clerk in the GPO Savings Bank before, as a Territorial, he was called up in August 1914. He was killed by a shell fragment. His age was given as both 22 and 23 sand he is also commemorated on IWM 2689.
