Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, with a child, and worked for a firm of engineers before he enlisted in January 1917. He died of diptheria in hospital in either Southern Russia or Mesopotamia according to the press of the time. He is also commemorated on IWM 2130.
