Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He worked in a mill as a twister, played cricket for Todmorden and enlisted in July 1916. A memorial service was held for him at Patmos Congregational Church on 1st April 1917 where he had suing in the choir. He is also commemorated on IWM 2224 and 2647.
