Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was a weaver who enlisted in September 1916. He was invalided home, recovered in hospital in Manchester and returned to his unit only to be killed. He is also commemorated on IWM 2224 and 596 as well as the Tyne Cot Memorial.
