Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He worked as a clerk at Ripponden Railway Station and was a marksman and sniper. Hit in the chest and thigh in a bayonet charge, he died in a Casualty Clearing Station according to a letter sent by a Nursing Sister. He is also commemorated on IWM 2626 and 2627.
