Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. The son of the Headmaster of Rishworth School where he was educated (as well as at St Peter's in York), he served with the Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment and was killed on the Somme on 12th October 1916. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial as well as ISWM 2627, 2630, and 2631.
