Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Originally from Barkisland, he served in the Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment and was one of the many in that regiment to die in the failed attack on the Schwaben Redoubt on the Somme on 3rd September 1916. He was 20 and never married but a token of love was sent upon his death by a May from Triangle. He is also commemorated on IWM 2627 and 2630.
