Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, to Catherine, and they had 2 children. He was discharged sick in 1915, rejoined the following year and served in Mesopotamia. He was discharged again in April 1917 and died of TB. He was not found to have been commemorated on any other Calderdale memorial but is buried locally.
