Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Married, to Gertrude, with two children he worked as a chauffeur to a man in Halifax. Unusual in that he enlisted into the RFC in February 1916 before transferring to the ground forces in May 1917. He died the following year at 22 Casualty Clearing Station. He is also commemorated on IWM 2863. The press gave his age as both 27 and 28.
