Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the details. Educated at Heath School in Halifax, he was working as a Civil Servant in London in the Post Office Bank before enlisting in August 1914. He then served in France and Salonika and was even torpedoed travelling to Egypt before dying of bronchial pneumonia in Boulogne. He is also commemorated on IWM 2860, 2613 and 29395 (which is the Heath School board)
