Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was a butcher with the Sowerby Bridge Co-Op before enlisting in January 1916. He was in France from May 1916, Italy from November 1917 and eventually died in Marseilles General Hospital of pneumonia after flu. He is also commemorated on IWM 2617.
