Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He lived with Aunt in Hebden Bridge and worked as a warehouse foreman in a mill, apparently for 25 years according to the press reports although his age at death makes that seem unlikely. He enlisted in October 1916 and was killed the following year. He is also commemorated on the Menin Gate and IWM 2845.
