Hornshaw and Fowler and myrastrick.com provide the extra details. He left the school in 1909 and worked as a clerk for a firm of dyers before he enlisted in August 1914. In the failed attack on the Schwaben Redoubt by the regiment on 3/9/16, he was shot in the back and lungs and died in hospital 6 weeks later. His parents had visited him before he died and now he is also commemorated on IWM 2747 and 2738.
