Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, with a child, and was the Grandson of Joseph Crossley, a mill owner, and had worked at a mill in Halifax before enlisting in August 1914. He was first reported missing after an attack on the German trenches but, in fact, died as a POW. Two of his brothers died in WW1 as well.
