Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was a married man who only work for Mackintosh for a short time and enlisted in March 1916, less than 6 months before he was killed on the eve of the unsuccessful attack on the Schwaben Redoubt by his regiment that resulted in heavy casualties. Her is widely commemorated in Calderdale appearing on IWM 2689, 2679 and 2695.
