Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married to Lavinia, worked for a firm of decorators and enlisted in October 1916. He was killed by shellfire as he was relieving the US Army and he is also commemorated on IWM 2689 where he is wrongly listed as serving with e Seaforth Highlanders.
