Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide full forenames and death details: they record he was a stockbroker before enlisting in June 1917, that he was an active member of this church and was killed on only his 19th day of service at the front, whereupon he was buried by two soldiers at Kemmel Hill. CWGC confirm all details but, like Hornshaw and Fowler, suggest he died on 16th serving with the Sherwood Foresters: he is commemorated on the Ploegsteert memorial
