Hornshaw and Fowler could find no further details on him and could not find him on any other Calderdale memorial: Malcolm Bull is the source of further information on this man. He was married, to Emma Jane, and they had 3 children. He was a regular before the war, becoming a Sergeant, but had reverted to being a Private at his own request when war broke out. He was in France in 1915 but sent home in the October, being discharged in March 1916. He died at home of heart disease.
