Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was an apprentice bootmaker who took over the business a year before he was called up (presumably as a Territorial). He was gassed on 23/7/17 and admitted to the South African Hospital in Abbeville with breathing difficulties but died 2 days later. He was not found to be commemorated on any other memorial they researched in Calderdale.
