The College website (see references) provides the following additional information: 'Accepted 1916 but did not come into residence. Military Service: 2nd Lieutenant 21st Battalion, Prince of Wales Own (West Yorkshire) Regiment. Gassed in the German attack on the attack on Mount Kemmel, Battle of Hazebrouck. Died 27 April 1918, but reported to College as 15 May. Stationed "for most of the time" at Arras.'
