The College website (see references) provides the following additional information: 'Came up in 1913 to read Natural Sciences, but did not graduate. Military Service: Captain 'D' Company 9th (Service) Battalion, Prince of Wales Own (West Yorkshire Regiment.) Died 27 August 1917 possibly during the skirmishing following the fighting around Langemark, 16-18 August 1917 in the 3rd Battle of Ypres (Passchendaele). Previously, wounded in the landing at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli.
