Echoes of the Week
Information was received on Tuesday that Private C.T. Feaver, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Feaver, St. Catherine's Street, was seriously ill in hospital in Yorkshire. His wife immediately left to visit him, but news came on Wednesday that he had passed away. Pte. Feaver was formerly in the National Reserve, and joined up on the outbreak of war. He was a member of the Ventnor Cricket Club and one of the Club's best bowlers. With Jeffery at one end and Feaver at the other some keen cricket could always be depended on. Pte. Feaver was apprenticed to the printing trade with W.J. Knight and remained with the firm till he was called up. Deep sympathy will be extended to the wife and three young children and to his family. A few weeks ago Pte. Feaver met with an accident through the explosion of an acetylene lamp. He came home on leave for a short period and appeared to be recovering. It is understood that he died from the after affects of the accident.
