Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Originally from Birkenhead, he enlisted when only 15 and was wounded at Loos. He spent 7 months in convalescence in Blackpool but presumably returned to his unit as he is recorded as KIA. He was also commemorated on the now lost Todmorden Secondary School memorial.
