Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, to Bertha, and they had 3 children all under the age of 5. He died of gunshot wounds in hospital on his 25th birthday. This was the only Calderdale memorial they found him commemorated on and the CWGC confirm what they thought, namely that his regiment is incorrect and should be the Yorkshires.
