Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was not married and worked as a weaver in a mill before, as a Territorial, he was called up in August 1914. He served in Egypt and Gallipoli before moving to France. He suffered at various times from enteric and appendicitis but was KIA. The only other Calderdale memorial they found him to be commemorated on has been lost - the Todmorden Bourillion Reform Club.
