Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was a weaver who was married to Nora Louisa and, as a Reservist, was called up in August 1914. He was killed at Hill 60 and whilst he is apparently not commemorated anywhere else in Calderdale, he is named on the Menin Gate.
