Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married to Cicely and they had a young son and daughter. He worked in an ironworks but was also a Reservist who served 5 years, including in the Boer War. Hen died in hospital from wounds to both legs and this was the only memorial he was found on in Calderdale.
