Notes
This man was mistakenly listed twice on the Roll of Honour: once under this entry as "Harry Bernard Wilson", and again as "Joseph Wilson". Both entries are annotated that he received a Military Medal MM, and that he was killed in action 24/8/1918. This entry as "Harry Bernard" correctly states he was a Gunner in the RFA; the other entry,as "Joseph", wrongly states he was a Gunner in the RGA.
This entry on the Roll under "Harry Bernard Wilson" lists his address as 4 St Mark Street (which was his parents' address); it includes the comment that he had been recommended for a commission, but died before being gazetted.

(CWGC records that Gunner Joseph Harry Bernard Wilson M.M., regimental number 895189, died aged 21 on 24/8/1918 serving in 855th Trench Mortar Battery of the Royal Field Artillery, and is buried in grave IV.B.19 at Pernes British Cemetery in France. They record him as the son of William Joseph and Alice Edith Wilson of 4 St Mark's Street, Peterborough.
The Medal Rolls record that Joseph Wilson's previous regimental number in the RFA was 512, and that he went to France as a Driver in the RFA on 17/11/1915; his regimental number later changed to 895189. The award of his Military Medal was published in the London Gazette on 2/8/1918 (Supplement 30830; Page 9254- Gunner J. Wilson RFA, attached to T.M. Battery).
The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that he died of wounds on 24/8/1918, and that his mother Alice was his legatee.
His birth was registered in Peterborough District in 1897. He was baptised on 16/7/1897 at All Saints' Church in Peterborough as Joseph Harry Bernard Wilson, the son of Joseph William and Edith Alice of Francis Villa, Eastfield Road. On the 1911 census he was living with his parents at 104 Lincoln Road East, Peterborough).
