Notes
The Roll lists his address as 398 Gladstone Street. It mistakenly records that he served in the 2nd Battalion.
(CWGC records that Private Fred Meadows, regimental number 14667, died aged 28 on 18/8/1916 serving in the 7th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, and is commemorated on Thiepval Memorial in France. They record him as the son of "F T Meadows" of Peterborough. Soldiers Died in the Great War records that Fred was a native of Peterborough, who died serving in the 7th Battalion. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that siblings were his legatees. Although CWGC record him as the son of "F.T. Meadows", on the 1911 census Fred had been living at 398 Gladstone Street, Peterborough; his mother Eliza was also in the household. On the 1901 census Fred had been living with his parents John T and Eliza Meadows in Gladstone Street, Peterborough).
