(CWGC records that Private Albert William Hughes, regimental number 22321, died on 25/9/1915 serving in 1st Battalion Northants Regiment, and is commemorated on Loos Memorial in France. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects record that his mother Ruth was his legatee. On the 1911 census Albert had been 12 years old, living with his parents Ruth and Isaac at 59 High Street, Fletton, Peterborough; his place of birth was given as Stanground).
