The Roll lists his address as 504 Gladstone Street (which had been the address of his brother Henry Hodson on the 1911 census). Whilst the Roll records him as "Sidney Bert Hodson", his birth was registered as "Bert Hodson", and he was recorded as such in all official records.
(CWGC records that Private Bert Hodson, regimental number 12947, died aged 22 on 10/5/1915 while serving in the 1st Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, and is buried in grave III.C.29 at Bethune Town Cemetery in France. They record him as the son of Enoch and Elizabeth Hodson of 84 Lincoln Road, Wrockwardine Wood, Oakengates, Wellington, Shropshire. Soldiers Died in the Great War records that Bert Hodson was a native of Donnington Wood, Shropshire who had enlisted in Peterborough).
