Notes
The Roll lists his address as 11 Duke Street, Old Fletton. It wrongly states that he was killed in action on 26/10/1916.
(CWGC records that Private Frederick William Harrison, regimental number 40222, died aged 23 on 21/10/1916 while serving in 9th Battalion of the Norfolk Regiment, and is buried in grave I.N.40 at Grove Town Cemetery at Meaulte in France. They record him as the son of Elizabeth and Frederick Gathercole Harrison of Wollaston Park Avenue, King's Lynn in Norfolk, and that he was a former bandsman of the 5th Battalion Norfolk Territorials. Soldiers Died in the Great War likewise records that Frederick William Harrison, a native of Norfolk, died of wounds on 21/10/1916, as do the Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, which state that he died at the No2 London Casualty Clearing Station in France, and that his widow Lily was his legatee. Frederick William Geoffrey Harrison had married Lily Ward in Fletton, Peterborough on 2/9/1916).
